clams and anemones

Hey Guys,
i just came home to find one of my clams snuggled up to my rose anemone and the anemone seems to have moved away and closed up a little because the clam's mantle was touching it, i moved the clam awa a bit and the anemone opened up right away. Do you guys know of any toxin that are found in clam mantles?

Julio-I haven't read of anything like that. It's probably more of a reaction to the foreign touch.I have one small rose, and it seems to be more sensitive that my other BTA's.

I was just wondering cause i ws a little more concern about the clam than the anemone, but the clam seemed unaffected by the touch. Does your anemone ever touch any of yoru clams?

My concern would be the anemone, also. You may be able to find some more info by searching on 'anamone' in this forum.I haven't had an anemone incident with my clams, but I have had corals in contact without an adverse response from either of them.
