i really like tridacnid clams, but i dont know if i will be able to keep them in my tank. i have a 90 gallon with 412 W of PC's. i know that maxima and crocea are definitely out of the question, but what about derasa and/or squamosa? if i did, would a bed of babies be best? would they survive on the sand bed, or would i need to make some sort of bed at the top? or should i just not get one? any suggestions or answers to those questions would be greatly appreciated.

derasa' and squamosa's live on the sand and with ur lighting i would say that a derasa would be a great start. as for baby's, they need to be feed a lot,in general clams that are 3 to 4 inches are the hardest to ship and adjust to changes the best so i would say get on in this size range and then in time u could try a smaller one

 I only changed it because it changes the meaning of what you were saying... Hardest to ship and Hardiest to ship are very different.

no worrys, im a dumb contractor and cant spell for ***t .i didnt pick up on that i typed hard'st, or how ever.i have to stop typing now my finger is sore

I have a Derasa and Squamosa under 220 wats of PC's. There both doing fine

cool, thanks for the advice. ive decided to add 400W of MH, so i will have 620 W over a 90 gallon. i will start with derasas or squamosas, because they seem to be easier, but i should have the lighting to try electric blue croceas :) woohoo. and acros ;-)
