Clams in a newer tank?

I have a Squamosa and Derasa that are about 7". I am breaking down the 240g they are currently in to make room for a downgrade. I have set up a 40g to house some of the inhabitants while the tanks are changed. What are the chances of these guys in a tank that is only a month old? The smaller tank was set up with rock from an established system. The tank never cycled and has a bunch of Zoas and SPS living in it right now.

What are the chances of these guys in a tank that is only a month old? Is there a better way to do it?

I prefer not to put clams in any tank that is less than 6 months old, but given it water and rocks from an established tank you might be ok. I'd wait as long as you can though. Also try to mimic the lighting as close as you can.

These guys finally had to be moved to their new home. I waited as long as I could, until the day the large tank came down. They are each around 8", how much Calcium and ALk are these guys capable of taking up? The new system is around 60-65g total with no equipment on it to replace anything. This tank will be maintained with just a 5g water change every two days. I had a large calcium and Kalk reactor on the main tank with around 100 SPS so I really don't know the demand of these guys.

The lighting changed a little, from 1 year old Phoenix 14ks to a new AB 20K, but all of the test corals have done very well, even a bubble tip.
