Clams keep repositioning themselves.

Hey guys, I have 2 Croceas. I have them in the substrate attached to a small piece of rock buried. Now, why do they keep turning sideways? I am pretty sure it is because of the way they are attaching themselves to the rock. Any input?

Also, I have righted them once or twice. Am I damaging their foot?

I would be willing to bet they are turning themselves to get better flow. I have a deresa that always tilts it's self towards the flow. I would say they are trying to adjust to more optimal conditions.

you'd be damaging their foot if you found yourself pulling the clam off the rock, leaving behind a chunk of fleshy matter- always a no-no to pull them or really move them much at all when they've attached, although derasa are relatively mobile

Thanks guys. My Croceas are sitting right next to eachother and they gradually turn away from one another. One leans left and the other leans right. Also, I do not ever pry them off of the rock under any circumstances, I just kinda rotate the clam gently so it sits up straighter. Am I still causing any harm?
