Clams vs. Mussels for Finicky Angels

In your experience, are finicky angels (in this case a 1" potters juvenile) more likely to go after clams or mussels (on the half shell)? Also, for such a small angel do you cut up the meat to make it easier to eat or leave it as a whole piece? Thanks.

Fresh clams frozen, then opened seem to please "pickers" like angels or butterfly fish. But I also use mussels in similar fashion successfully. No need to cut them up.

Just my experience with Herald's angel: Didn't touch anything for the first 4~5 days... Didn't really try to feed anything other than what the tank was being fed which was flakes, frozen mysis, frozen brine and nori. I didn't give in and after the 5th day he started eating everything. Again just my experience.

I sure hope my potters comes around too. She was eating in the LFS (or else I wouldn't have bought her) but now she's been in my tank for 5 days and has only eaten a few pieces of brine shrimp. She picks at the rocks constantly, so she is definately getting something to eat, but I don't know how long she can survive like that. Given that she is only 1" long she doesn't have much fat on her and has a really high metabolism.

The clams and mussels were a no go. She looked at them but wouldn't take a chance on them. Any other ideas?
