I would say you u can however they are in a colder climate from fish & coral we put in our tanksso they will die after a few weeks from the temp being higher in our tanks.
If they are like the clams in ocean city, md then yes you can take them. Up to 100 a day per person. We eat them though. You just wade through the water in the bay during low tide and use your feet to find them. I just started using saltwater from the ocean for water changes without any changes to my corals. The hermit crabs I pulled from the beach died in the refugium though within a day probably due to the higher temps. Clams from the colder waters would probably suffer the same fate.
