not sure how common they are in the states
but i assume they are very rare,
anyway there is a clarion angel for sale in netherlands £4,000
this is the first in europe for a while now
does this mean some will appear in the states?

very rare due to the collection laws...there were a bunch a few months ago and all sold very quickly...still one around, with an odd tail, for 2500usd...what size is the one you are referring to?

and its sale price is £3,500
there rarely seen here in europe,
but are occasionally seen
these are the first ones for sale in Europe since august last year

you can get it in if your in the states
but you'd have to pay for shipping
and i sent them a message about photos,
there more common in europe than america but still quite rare,
the abyss in Manchester had 5 of them in 2010,

they are rare all around due to the tough restrictions that the Mexican gov places on collection and they come from a protected area...
there were about 10 avail for sale here late spring/early summer...smallest was just under 3 inches...the one I mentioned with the odd tail is the only one left from that batch...they were avail at a few locations...the west coast also got a bunch....

Mine was a gift, an "Undocumented Alien", I'm afraid. I'm surprised there isn't a bigger black market with Clarions; they sure aren't rare in their home waters. At least from what I've been told.
