Clarion Angels at Country Critters

i talked to someone in the trade and he said that 20 PER YEAR are allowed to be harvested. NINETEEN are usually tagged for Japan.

One must be beyond loaded or obsessed to buy a single fish for 3-4 K. If you are, get yourself checked before its too late. Don't need to be reading in the paper that somebody jumped off the bridge because the fish decided to swim upside-down or went carpet surfing.

Just my penny and a half.

from what i understand ther is now a quota as to how many are collected for the fish trade each year, but i am not sure what that number is.

With the ok from the owner of cc i am allowed to go there and take pic's for fish profiles and other usages. Here is a pic i got of the Clarion Angel i took last Saturday.

that is a beautiful fish. I would say it's about 200 dollars beautiful. to reach 3000 dollar beauty it would have to shoot rainbows out of its eyes and poop solid gold nuggets.

HAHAHAAA i agree 1000%

I looked on the CITES 2008 export quotas list but for some reason couldn't find this listed on there, maybe fish are on another document, but it had the quota numbers for all corals and such (amount allowed to be exported for this year).

yeah i checked that too, but this is what i was told over at absolutely fish and they seem to bring them in all the time as well.

If my understanding is correct, this was a one time deal with only 50 entering the US. No guarantees any will be legally imported next year. IIRC they are not on CITES, but restricted by the Mexican gov't., that's why you wouldn't find them on the CITES list.
