I wonder, in the race to get them up for sale, if they have been conditioned at all? Granted, they are very hardy fish, but still...

Been wondering the same thing. It would be awful to see such a beautiful fish fall victim to disease when it could've been conditioned.
 
Unfortunately, I think that practice is endemic with all live animals in our hobby. I think long gone are the days where vendors held animals an extended amount of time to ensure healthiness.

I disagree to some extent. The Red Sea Eightline flasher wrasses come to mind (LiveAquaria vs other vendors), as one example. I also know I had to wait patiently for over a month before getting my hands on my paucifasciatus butterfly which was already stateside.
 
Actually you're right. I shouldn't have said all. A couple of vendors are still very responsible. But I think they're definitely in the minority.
