just to throw this out there
i went to a fish store last week and they had a 6-6 1/2 inch clarkii.
im guessing it was probably 10+ years old, it was in there display tank.

I have a pair of clarkiis 4"+ and they were okay in my 24 but got aggressvie quickly. Probably because they are in a small tank.
