Hi, I´ve heard before about how supposedly playing classical music next to a reef tank can help improve coral growth and coloration, anyone has tried this?.

Where can I read more about this?. I´v very curious.

I prefer Heavy metal.... makes my corals tougher. I think I even saw my hermits forming a mosh pit one time!:bounce2:

:D. that would be worth posting on youtube :D

my son is now a rocket scientist genius because I played Mozart for him when he was a baby in the crib

well here's a good idea for a test then. frag 2 pieces from one of your fast growers, let 'em settle a little bit, then keep one in your display as a control, and put another in another tank with identical conditions and classical music playing, and chart growth via photographs over a 2-3 month period.

I tried playing music for my corals once, but the water shorted out the speaker and electrocuted all the fish when I turned it on. Maybe I shouldn't have placed the speaker in the water.

That's why they make waterproof ear buds! So some of your corals can listen to their music without disturbing their neighboring corals.

This wouldn't be a bad idea. I would follow a thread like that.

By the long hair algae and all around funk I would guess my tank is fond of the Grateful Dead......or Phish :rolleye1:
