Clay pot question

Hey everyone,

I'm looking into making a breeding tank out of a 10 gallon. I read in the clownfish and anemone faq that it is possible to get the clowns to spawn in a clay pot. I was wondering if the pot needed to be treated before placing it into the tank, any other precautions? Thanks for any help in advance.

[welcome]

I soak new flowerpots in fresh water for 24 hours, scrub and in they go.

I do prefer tile, though :)

Thanks for the welcome lol, that's awesome.

Do I just let it soak in normal tap water and then scrub it down with a brush or something? I was actually thinking about leaving it in the reservoir on the toilet so water keeps running over it like my brother does with his frag disks lol. I wasn't sure how the "tile method" worked, think you could elaborate on this? Thanks a lot for the help.

Yes. The same with a tile.
