Clean Glass

I got a deal on a 125 and the back was covered with dead coralline. The previous owner let the back and sides get covered. When I removed it there still seems to be a haze in the glass. I don't care about it being on the back but would like the sides to sparkle again. Any suggestions? Here is a pic.

I've seen other propellant about cleaning equipment with vinegar.....maybe that would work?

Fill up your tank with tap water and 5 jugs of distilled vinegar and let it sit for 2 days,works great.

I did run it with 1 gallon of vinegar guess I needed more. I will give it a try. Might even just use a spray bottle since it's only the sides.

Let it soak for 2 days and it will peal off the glass,and you can also dip skimmers,sump,power heads,that way you will get your used system disinfected.

Muriatic acid from a pool or home store will work wonders. Just make sure you use protective gloves and clothing.

The glass is most likely etched. No amount of cleaning or soaking will fix it. You have to polish it out with something like cerium oxide which is a tedious task... or just live with it.
