clean sandbed

Whats the best way to get/keep a clean sand bed? I have some orange gowth on one side, not much just a little. And the bed just dosnt look that clean.

Its a 120 tank with 2x 250 MH on for 8 hours...i think. Still trying to get these dang timex timers to work right.

IMO a sand sifting goby. I have a White diamond watchman goby that does a good job.

How long has has you tank been up and running? What do you have in there now for a cuc?

i bought the tank off a guy who had it up for about 3 years, moved it about 500 miles with the same sand, and set it up. Now its been going for about 4-5 months.

Not really sure what i have left of my cuc. I used to have 50 blue leg, 20 snails of some sort. arrow crab, couple green grabs... not really sure what else i should add.

Had a jaw fish, but he didnt look too good, and now never see him.

Keep in mind a sand shifting goby may keep your sand clean but could make the rest of your tank look bad. I had one that would grab sand and swim towards the surface, dropping the sand all over everything.. Along with the powerheads tiny sand was always blowing around the tank.

I would consider a sand shifting cucumber, or the snails that dig into the sand.

I would also recommend nassurius snails and fighting conchs before a sand sifting goby....although I have to tell you, this is a problem I have had for over a year now. Nothing really seems to work long term.
