Clean up crew for a 9 G

In Joyce Wilkerson's book, Clownfishes she outlines the stock list for a simple 10g aquarium.

The CC listed here consists of:
1 small sea cucumber, brittle star, or serpent star
2 small hermit crabs
2 to 10 small snails (Lithopoma [Astraea] spp.)

Hope this helps!

Ah ok, I went to my LFS and just asked them for a clean up crew for a 9g..

they gave me :

7 hermits -- Scarlet Reef Hermit Crabs
7 snails -- Trochus Snail
1 crab -- Sally Lightfoot Crab
1 sea star -- Sand Shifter..

Dunno, it just seems like alot and that its pretty crowded right now.

Also was wondering how long it takes for the snails to venture out a little more.. only one is on the glass, and the others are slowly moving the on the rocks i placed em on..

Was interesting watching the sea star move to the sand though

Hey, I have a 9 gallon as well. I have 10 turbo snails -+ 1 that is a undergravel type forgot the name.

1 skunk cleaner shrimp

I think I may have a perfected clean up crew.
The snails keep 100% percent control of unwanted algea, except for the green film you have to scrape off the glass.

My skunk shrimp IMHO does the job of 5 hermits plus hes more effecient and likes to clean my hand and arm whenever Im in the tank. he's like a tiny dog. =)

IMO 1 snail per gallon.

In my 10 gal, I think my clean up crew is maybe too big, I have 7 small hermits, 2 halloween hermits, 1 snail (not sure what kind), 1 emerald crab.
