Clean up crew question?

Basically my CUC is doing a great job keeping my sand and glass clean. The problem I'm having is that the CUC is suspending sand particles in my display tank and it floats around 24/7. I have a 4 inch sand bed with fine sand. I can see that the culprit is the hermit crabs and some times the turbo snail. For the most part it's the hermit crabs.

Tank is 210 w/42*18*18 sump refugium
25 turbo snails
27 hermit crabs
27 nassarius snails
3 sand shifting stars
10 assorted crabs


Is this CUC too large for my system, or could I go with a little less

How old is the tank? If it is fairly new then don't worry. Eventually the bacteria will form a biofilm on the sand that will hold it together better and it won't blow around as much. After several months, you should be able to move rocks and sand around without creating a great storm.
