Cleaner Shrimp bothering RBTA

Has anyone had issues with cleaner shrimp pestering their anemones? I just got a cleaner yesterday and within a few minutes he parked right on top of my RBTA. Be it coincidence or not, the anemone shrank to about 3" across when it is normally 7".

When I fed the anemone this morning, the cleaner shrimp picked and tugged at the food too. In fact, it caused the anemone to release a 1/2" piece of krill this morning.

I have two clowns in my QT, but they will not be ready to introduce for another week or so. I am hoping they will herd the shrimp away.

Any comments are appreciated. Thank you.

It is normal, the shrimp should stop eventually and when you introduce your clowns the will keep it away too. And if the shrimp doesnt learn it might be foor for your anemone.

I have two cleaner shrimp, but they don't bother my RBTA. They do steal food from my frogspawn and candy canes however. I give them a piece of food first then feed the LPS's. As long as you distract them with a piece of food first, they won't steal.

Well my cleaner is a glutton. I'll feed him first and he'll still go and pick at my RBTA, duncans(his fav), and my acans. He ****es me off but he's the girlfriends so what can you do.

one of two of my cleaner shrimp always stays at the base of my RBTA and picks at it every now and then, doesn't seem to bother my nem anymore though..

we have two cleaner shrimp in our tank along with a RBTA and they dont seem to bother him. Like someone else has said we usually give them alittle piece first and then cont to feed everything else so they wont steel food from anything.
