Cleaner Shrimp / Bta

Well, my cleaner shrimp is walking all over the BTA and looks like it's stressing it out.
All day the shrimp will chill right next to the BTA and walk over it or pick at it and then the BTA will close up.
This will go on every 2-3 mins. I'm afraid the BTA will get stressed out and die.

Also, the shrimp doesn't even clean.
Should I just get rid of it or it's necessary to have in the tank to clean the junk?

Thanx~

My skunk cleaner shrimp don't clean my fish at all, so its normal; probably because the fish are small and don't want to be cleaned. The shrimp will only clean if the fish want to be cleaned and come up to it.

Other than that I don't know why its doing that. If it continues to attack it then you might have to get rid of it. are any of the two new to the tank?

Good luck

i had a cleaner shrimp in with my rose BTA and it never bothered it. i did have to get rid of my pepermint shrimp beacuse they were doing the same thing. my cleaner also did not do much cleaning besides left over food but you can always get other inverts that will do that and not bother you BTA so it is basicly up to you and how much you like the shrimp or the BTA.

Came home from work to find my shrimp picking at the BTA again and it looks like the BTA was dying. It was releasing stringy slime stuff. I took out the BTA and tried to take out the shrimp but, no luck trying to catch the sucker. So, mad at myself for not taking out the shrimp sooner.

Anyone ideas how I can catch the shrimp?

Bait the shrimp with food and a net or bottle.

As for the bta, it might have been pooping so I wouldn't bother it too much. Constant moving around will stress it.

it takes alot to kill a healthy BTA if your tank parameters are good. so i wouldnt be worried that it is dead. best way to tell is if it stinks....it took me along time to get my peppermint shrimp out of my tank when i saw them eating my BTA. but i set a net in the tank with bait in it and waited for them to climb in and it did take awhile to do. so be patient...
