Cleaner Shrimp died

Hi there my cleaner shrimp pass away today. was lied on the sand no signs of any fight or been biten.

I still haven´t find the rezon.

All my parameter are Ok

only thing I had changed this week I put my power head to run air, to pull up the PH was a low 7.9 when I test 4 days a go but yestarday I check again and was on 8.2 I added son PH buffer too Could any of this be the reazon?? I always test my paramet weekly

I have 55 g tank

Hi Aaron, Sorry for your loss. Shrimps are always great additions to tanks. I do not think the air bubbles caused the death however I don't think it is necessary. Aim the powerhead fin up for good surface movement for gas exchange. I like using a rotating head to get good surface and all around water movement. Cleaner shrimp will typically only live up to 4 years of age or so. This being said it is best to buy shrimps small so you know they arn't already a mature adult who may have a short life left to spend in your tank. This could have been the cause If your water parameters are good and it wasn't the new tank. Since your tank is new it's tough to say. Did you use live rock from a older tank? What else was in the tank with your cleaner shrimp?
