Cleaner shrimp

I have a cleaner shrimp with eggs .. what should i do ?? is there anything special that i have to do for it .. or should i just leave it be ..?

probablly leave them be. Did you buy it recently, or do you have a pair of shrimp that may have breeded? To actually raise the shrimp you would have to wait untill she released the hatchlings, which usually happens in the middle of the night. not sure on the length of time they remain in the eggs on those ones.
Then you would need to move the freshly hatched larvae into another tank for raiseing them, which would need to be the exact same water they were hatched in because they will have no tolerance for changes in water chemistry.
These new borns will need live rotifiers to eat, again not sure how long, but eventually could move to baby brine after a few weeks usually.
I am not sure anyone has truely been successful in breeding cleaner shrimp in captivity, they usually get them to a molting stage around a couple months, and they perish.
I am giveing all this information based on a lot of reading recently, not on experience, I am preparing to set up a few breeding stations for various fish and inverts in the near future.

If you do have a pair that are breeding, and you have the money to spend it could be worth attempting in the near future, not sure how often cleaners lay eggs.

well i got my cleaner shrimp about 2 weeks ago .. the tank ha da few of them in it when i got it .. i dont really have a seperate tank ready for them .. but i might be able to cook something up if they hatch

Your not gonna get far without a small lab. They take 180days to mature, and only one large commercial breeder was able to do it.

I was told between three to four months which is 90 to 120 days for them to hit thier last morph stage. I'm sure undervaried conditions we will have varied results.
I have yet to here of a hobbyist or small commercial breeder manageing to do it. I would love to hear some hobbyist stories on it though.

you guys should use the "search function":) Try Lysmata amboinensis...

I rarely get the search function to work. It usually says there are too many request or something to that effect.

Thanks Luis AM, that gave me a lot of information. So why does the search engine work for you, and not me. Is that part of the donation process of supporting RC?
I would be more then happy to donate to RC, I just have to get a few other things out of the way, which I should only be a month or so away from doing.
Thanks for doing the searches for us those, I appreciate it.

Ok, thanks, I went ahead and paid for the premium membership yesterday, so it should be set up soon. Then I can search for stuff more often.
