cleaner wrasse and clams

I just in herited a cleaner wrasse and all was fine my tangs were looking nice now it seems like there is nothing to clean and the little bugger seems to be pecking at the mantle of my gold teardrop maxxima clam could he be eating parasites on the clam from the tangs flicking off it or do you think he is directly attacking the clam

i have 3 with two clams with no problems... not sure

this one was clearly picking at my clams to bad but I spent 3hrs trapping him out the clams are safe

I had one that was fine for 6 months, after that he would not allow the clams to open.

you have a picture of what it looked like??? was this a blue streak cleaner wrasse or another type>

That was years ago, it was one of the common blue cleaners, the 6 dollar variety I believe. He did eat any kind of food that I put in the tank, just developed a taste for clams I guess. I've actually heard of this happening to several people.
