Cleaning a old tank for storage.

Whats the best way to clean an old tank for storage?

I upgraded tanks and moved everything over except the sand. I was thinking that I could empty all the sand and water out then fill it with water vinegar mix to clean all the pumps, heaters etc.

Its a 29g BC

No matter what it is is use for my aquarium I always use bleach. You just hve to make sure you rinse it real good.
