cleaning animals that won't get eaten?

I tried to ask this in a different forum but no one knew what an octo would or would not eat. Can I get any animals that will clean the gravel in my tank that won't get eaten by the octo?

When I bought the octopus I was also sent 25 hermit crabs and two pencil urchins for free. Hermit crabs obviously disappeared in a week, but the pencil urchins have stuck around. They usually hang out on the rocks or glass though, so gravel goes uncleaned (except in water changes)

Starfish, sea cucumbers are ok. Snails may be ok depending on the octo.
I have one sand sifting cucumber. It is the same cucumber that has been with me since I started in salt water. I have used him in every tank I have. I usually keep him on one tank for a month or so then pick him up and drop him in another. The litte guy is a great sand cleaner. His name is Mr. Hanky I think you can figure out what he loos like:rolleyes:

I think i can. Does he also match Mr. Hanky's color? He is a sand shifter, but would he do the same thing to gravel?
