Cleaning beach sand

I have a 225 gal FOWLR. I would like to get rid of the coral substrate. I have a beach home and would like to use some of the sand. How do I clean it? Can I use heat such as an oven to kill any parasites? Someone said rinsing with bleach but the chlorine.

I once used said from the beach when I lived on Maui just scoop rinsed it w/ NSW and put it in the tank and was good to go... tank was up fro only six months b4 i moved back to the main land. but it did not see any ill effects.

Chlorine will evaporate so that's not an issue. Are you talking dry sand or wet? Is this a public beach?

Dry and public. I know not allowed by state by was wondering how the clean it as ive seen people use it.
