cleaning crew

hey all .. its been a while since i posted here.. but back the thrid week of december i had the one thing i know most if not alll fear.. my tank started a small fire ... i was lucky enough to have everything saved by a buddy of mine due to the fact i was out of town and the caretaker of my tank didnot know what to do .. (the fire dept cut ever pwoer cord that lead to my tank)

anyway i recent got some of my rock a 10 gallon tank and a few of my fish back .. namely my 2 true percs.. my maroon and a bicolor blenney. so i have the rock and flow and everything going in the tank that they are in now.. however i did not get any of my snails or anything back with the rest of my set up .. so im curious to see what everyone thinks would be a good clean up crew for this tank. any help would be greatly appricated thanks

A couple of snails or so should be a fine start. Since the tank has some live rock, you'll probably have some good cleanup crew members that came with it.

I would go with snails as well. Astreas work well for me. I like scarlet hermits as well.

Get a good mix. 20 nassarius, 10 cerith, astereas are good but if they flop over they will die which is common. Get youself 1 conch (fighting not queen due to the size the queen grows to). Couple of shrimps and if you dont mind the size, get 1 or 2 turbo snails. Oh and get some hermits, scarlet and mexican (dont get blue due to they are a little more aggresive and will eat your smails). I have the same size tank and have about 60 nassarius, 10 cerith, 1 conch, turbo died, 3 shirmps, and 12 hermits, i think thats it.... hmmm, just my .02

it is betoni :)

and what started my fire .. from what i can tell... mind you i was on vacation and it was patially cleaned up when i got home.

but the fire dept told me that the power strip i had over heated. and i belive it was due to the fact that it got knocked onto the old shag style carpeting that was in the room. so i think the carpet insulated the powerstrip and in a weeks time generated enough heat to creat a spark of some sort.

Okay, for a 10g, probably a few snails would be a good way to start. Sorry about the fire! Sounds painful.

well i still have a house.. and all the fish lived.. so it was just an equipment loss.. so all is replaceable.
