Cleaning hoses?

How often should I clean out my hose for the return and the closed loop? Also should I be cleaning out the pumps? How would you go about cleaning those hoses?

I think my pressure has dropped some and I have had the tank running for about 9 month's at this point. I think I read somewhere that you should dip the pump's in vinegar solution every so often but can't remember how often that was....

If your flow has dropped it could possibly be your pump or if your hose is clogged. Pumps are all different but most have some means of getting to the impeller. It is like a propeller in appearance and is on the end of a shaft. It is usually under a housing where the intake nozzle is. Some pumps have four screws that hold the housing on and some kinda twist off. If you can get to your impeller you can try to clean it with vinegar of it has white mineral deposits on it. You should also clean out the hole it is seated in to make sure there is no debris or algae in there. Then reassemble the opposite of how you disassembled. If you think your hoses might be clogged I would clean them as well. It is an "as needed" chore. I dont know that there is an ideal interval...

How would you go about Cleaning the hoses? I was thinking a flexible wand type cleaner from Orchard.

Can't really get to it. I would think a scrub brush type thing on the end of a flexible wand would do it probably need's to be 5' or more to get the whole hose.
