Cleaning large acrylic tank no scratches?

Whats the best way to clean the algae off the inside and outside of tank with out scratching. I have an acrylic mag float that I put a sock over it on both sides to try preventing scratches, but found on the outside I have some fine small scratches :headwalls:

I've used a mighty magnet for years on my tank. It works great. They have a very soft pad on the outer magnet and great pads for the inside. If you are getting scratches on the outside of the tank, you need to replace the felt pad for the outer magnet. I've had my tank for over 20 years now and scratches are not an issue when using magnet cleaners as long as you are careful to inspect both the inner and outer magnet for debris and also careful to maintain the pads.

Fill it up with a water vinager mix and let it sit a day or too. Then use a aq safe pad to clean with it will come off with ease!!!

I have seen post where people use the mr clean magic easer. I have not done it, so can't recommend it. Maybe research it a bit.

I started using the ME recently. Cut thin slices of it and sandwich it between the magnets. Works great, but acrylic is still a scratch magnet no matter what you try to do to prevent them. I mean anything that can be scratched with a paper towel is a scratch magnet.
