Cleaning LED stars

What is the best way, if there is one, to clean LED stars... I bought a setup used and they are in need of some TLC. Ive done DIY leds before multiple times, but never cleaned them because ive had acrylic protecting them. Some salt creep, rust from the solder-less connectors, etc.

Any help is appreciated.

I'd use something like rubbing alcohol, for the salt creep.
