cleaning old tank

I am getting ready to set up a 75gal. The tank was bought used and had some algae/salt crust/fish crap on the glass. I razor scraped the majority of it off and rinsed the sides with RO water. There is still a faint haze in places.

I was wondering if there is something I could use to give a once over and remove the haze that wasnt toxic. Maybe Tilex or windex?:D

Seriously I thought perhaps vinegar and then rinsing the tank thoroughly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you have a lot of built on stuff, a stronger acid like muriatic acid (Lowes) will work. But it will also burn skin, and kill your grass, so wear gloves and wash it away at the end. I had some old salt or something that would only come off with that.

A cup of muriatic to a gallon of water will work great. Just be sure to add the acid to the water and not the water to the acid.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I am going the vinegar route simply because I have a gallon of it left over from preparing food for our wedding this summer.

Probably get around too it Monday or Sunday> Will let you know how it works
