cleaning powerheads

Whats the best way to do this? Just fill the sink up and run them in the clan water or what? Any suggestions would help thanks

take them apart and soak them in vinegar this will loosen up all the crud and deposits an old soft toothbrush can be used to scrub them if needed, rinse them with fresh water and put them back in service

I run mine in vinegar overnight then take apart and scrub with an old toothbrush, works like a charm

Ok ill look as to how to take them apart when i get them out of the tank. Guess there is a screw holding them together or something. Thanks for the help,

Soak them in whiite vinagar. They just twist apart, you will see two tabs that line up so they pull apart.
