Cleaning QT Tank

My QT tank has something nasty in it that killed two fish. I am planning on draining it. Is there anything else that I need to do to ensure that whatever killed the fish is gone?

I thought about adding copper since it is a QT tank. Any opinions on this and what brand of copper is best?

I would drain it and clean with vinegar and water then rinse very well and allow to air dry.
