What is the best way to clean a skimmer and get all the coraline algae off the skimmer? I have heard of people cleaning pump and such with vinegar and water. What is the mixture ratio? 1 cup of vinegar/gal
A 1-to-1 ratio of vinegar to water should work well enough. That's what I use. 1 cup per gallon should be okay if you soak the skimmer long enough, though.
You should be able to soak the acrylic as long as you want. For the pump, I'd watch it and remove it when the coralline was done, but that might be a waste of time.
