Cleaning Tank

hey i was wondering how do u keep your tank clear and clean?
For my 12 gallon nanocube the sand is kind of dirty and has algae growing on it and algae is growing on my glass. Is there a secret to keepin the tank clear and clean? and how thick should my sand bed be?

I use the mag cleaner every couple days. If you have algae problems you may want to take a closer look at the problem, and in nanos its hard because it doesnt take much to pollute the water.

An inch of sand can do as long as you have enough live rock.
Rinse your food
maintain flow (koralia nano)
keep all filters clean if you have mech filters
aggressive skimming
10 hrs light MAX
...and so on

good luck

and do not slack on the water changes, especially in a nano. As someone here at RC told me;
"dilution is the solution to the pollution"

I just use a credit card for the glass, siphon sand when you change water. How long has the tank been setup? some algae is just part of the cycle process

tank has been up for about 1 year some of my corals died because i was using no ich to treat it now im tryin to get my tank clean and get the water conditions stable again

I use a nice magnet cleaner (I had to get a huge one for my 3/4" thick glass) and then a razor every 4-6 weeks to get coralline build-up off the display panes.
