After 2 week of dosing, now my tank have a clear slime, my filter media, only last 2 days ,because is cover with this slime, that look like spider web, do anybody have the same experience, is it the vodka? Or the bactor7?
Hi! In my experience carbon dosing (vodka) can result in blooms of cyanobacteria and other small prokaryotic things that can stick together to form the slime. I would recommend reducing your dosages, and increasing your mechanical filtration (stuff that gets dirty but doesn't go bad) You can always just spray off/rinse your filter socks/pads to not waste them if you have those.
OR... It might be mucus from worms/corals/other critters that just got aggravated recently totally unrelated to the vodka/bacteria. Hope that helps!
Yes reduce both by half and continue dosing. It's bacterial film, it will go away but you are probably overdosing a bit. If it's still there in a week I would reduce by another half.

I had a similar issue when I first started dosing NOPOX. I spoke to the people at Red Sea and they told me it was due to a lack of oxygen in the water and a symptom of overdosing carbon. I reduced my dose and it gradually cleared up. I'm assuming you're running a skimmer which is a must when dosing carbon , it oxygenates the water.
yes its just an excess of bacteria..
Commonly referred to as "bacterial snot" and is caused by excessive carbon dosing (overdosing).. Simpy reduce the dose some until it clears..
