close ups???????????????????

how are people getting those extreme close ups of there corals?

every time I try to get one of those extreme close ups my camera loses focus. I have an Olympus 4 megapixal, its an automatic but I can put it in manual mode. maybe I just need to know how to set it?

Can anyone help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?

That camera has a great zoom lens but most likely the best close-ups you can get are when you have the lens zoomed all the way out to the widest end of the lens. With the camera in macro mode zoom out all the way and get the camera as close as you can to the subject but no closer than 7cm- any closer and the pics will be blurred. If you have the manual look up the macro setting and see what it says about zooming in. With a lot of point and shoot cameras you have to be zoomed out all the way to use the macro mode. With some you can zoom in but it will increase the distance you have to be from the subject (you'll have to move further back than 7cm).
Another issue may be the autofocus is having a hard time- common with close-up photography. A work-around is to focus on something else that is the same distance away [7cm or greater]-- something that has a lot of texture/contrast. Press the shutter button halfway to engage the af and once it's locked on keep the button pressed halfway and recompose the shot on your intended subject. Once you have the subject framed up properly press the button the rest of the way to take the pic.
And yet another issue is low light. If there isn't a lot of light the camera will choose a slow shutter speed and the pics will be blurry because you can't hold the camera steady enough. In this case use a tripod. Your camera has a selftimer-- that will help too when the camera is on a tripod.

i would say adjust your white balance and maybe use a tripod.
