closed brain, how much light?

i recently purchased a 130 watt PC fixture with 65watt 10k daylight and 65watt dual acintic bulbs, i have been running a 250 watt xm 15k MH, over a 37gal tank.

can i keep my closed brain coral under the PC lighting alone, or should i use the pc fixture for dusk/dawn and keep the MH as the main lighting?

i can not keep both the PC fixture and the MH on at the same time because i would need to remove the PC to run the MH.

Brains typically dont need alot of light as they are usually found at the bottom of the reef, even partly covered in sand or mud. I've had success with them with only regualr fluorescent.

the brain seems to look better under the PC lighting.... i have it on the sand usually but moved it up higher last night due to an anemone threatening to move too close...

dude use both you get the best of both worlds i would reccomend 10k MH bulb a dual actinic pc and a 50 50 pc to add a lil white your pictures will thank you and so will you coral

yea, i have been running the PC for a few days and desided to do the a dawn/dusk with the PC and use the MH during the day, but when i ran the MH this morning i noticed the PC looked brighter then the MH... lol so its time to replace the bulb, i have found out that my XM 15k bulb is about the worst par there is, i think im going to get a pheonix 10k or 14k bulb.... should work out fine.
