Closed loop canister systems: inline fittings?

Guys,

Looking to brainstorm a dosing system and manual topoff system for a closed loop canister filtration system. Do any of the vendors/plumbing companies make purpose built inline fittings for this kind of thing?

Are there any john guest fittings that can be plumbed into the standard canister tube size where the fitting has something like a venturi valve in order to pull water from a reservoir?

Thanks!

I am going to say no. That kind of stuff is made for industrial applications and comes in standard pipe sizes. Ones rated for use with saltwater are very expensive.
A canister filter will not make enough flow to use a Venturi anyway. The media in the filter doesn't allow for it.
We do use them in skimmers to pull air into water but slimmers use fairly large pumps and move a lot of water.

You can add water for top off right into the tank with gravity. No need for a complicated system.
Dosing is usually done with positive displacement peristaltic pumps designed for accuracy and repeatability of the amount dispensed.
If you wanted to do this with a closed loop then make an adapter for the inlet of the canister and add it to the stream there.
I am not sure that would work either though.

All sorts of things to brainstorm with of every kind.
