Hi I just made a closed loop and I am getting a lot of mico bubbles when the pump is full power this is how I made it. I have a dart pump with 11/2 pcv pipe coming from my tank to the pump then I have 2- 1 in pcv pipe returns and a squid with 2 3/4 returns I did prime it but it still seems to have some air in the lines what can I do to fix this. One other thing my tank is not drill for a closed loop so this is over the top kind.

well, the cl system is going to purge itself of air rather quickly, if you continue to get bubbles after an hour, then you either have a leak of bubbles are being sucked into your intake. if you restrict the intake with your thumb, do the bubbles get worse?

I think you either do not have an air-tight seal between the PVC joints, and/or your intake design is too restrictive for your size pump. Make sure you glue all your connections (or use teflon tape if threaded). A good rule of thumb is that your plumbing should be twice the diameter of the pumps outlet.

In my closed loop, I used a 1.5in pvc that I swiss-cheesed using a 1/2in drill bit, for my intake.

Check out http://www.wetwebmedia.com/pbretfaqs.htm for some closed loop faqs.

Also, check out http://www.melevsreef.com/closedloop.html for a nice design for a undrilled tank.
