closed loop, powereads or both

well the great debate on the cima forum is my ideas for the 150 some think I can not get the flow I will want without a couple powerheads. I am thinking a dart on a closed loop possibly with an OM 4-way. plus I have bought an IWAKI 70rlt for a return. they think the return is way too much. I can see that 1500 gph through the sump is a lot. What do all of you guys run for return pumps? As far as not enough flow. I think it should be quite a bit of flow. the dart and the Iwaki together is 5100 gph (without head loss) that is 34X flow.

ideas are greatly appreciated. I really want to do this 150 without powerheads and I cannot afford tunze steams. if I can't I will most likely try to hide them behind rocks.

I think you'll be fine with just the closed loop. If you do a manifold return on it you can customize it with as many outlets as needed as well as penductors(sp?) if you want more.

Thanks for the vote of cofidence. i was begining to second guess my plans. my plans are to split the returns. i just am not sure were the returns will be at this point. i want some in the front towards the bottom of the tank but i can not drill the bottom. i may just come in on the sides.

how many gph does everyone have running though there sump. is the iwaki 70 going to be too much. it is rated at 1500 gph but it will have some head pressure on it and the return will be split in two.
