closed loop problems

Have you tried throttling the return line? The drain line might not be able to pull enough water if throttling the returns helps.

In my expierience, the first few days of running a closed loop will cause a huge amount of microbubbles. As the plumbing ages, it will go away. See my thread, at first I was plagued with bubbles, but now it is fine.

As far as the cavitation or rattling noise. My Blueline 40 pump does the same thing. If I open it all the way on the return side after the pump, it will make the rattling noise. But, if I throttle the valve back a bit, the noise goes away.

Thanx leebo. I can't wait to finally get the carpet down and move the office out of my son's bedroom! It's gonna be a while before we get the big tv, etc down there!

I didn't read all the posts but it sounds like cavitation. To make it stop you need to throttle down (not shut just about 1/4) on the discharge to increase the pressure on the discharge side of the pump. You can slowly throttle open on the discharge after it has been running for awhile. This should make the noise disappear, if it happens after you open the valve just find the sweet spot.

Good Luck

That's exactly what I did to fix mine! Good advice :)
