Closed Loop?

Good morning everyone...

Okay probably a dumb question but here it goes. Can i run a closed loop with a sump on a undrilled tank?
I want to be able to take all the power heads out and get some more flow through there. But needless to say i am not the man of the house either
And if i can't run a cloesed loop is there anything else i can do to remove the power heads but up my flow?

Any diagrams or pics would be great.
