Cloud

Good Evening

I recently started a new setup, it's an Aquapod 24 Gallon tank, I added live sand, and five damsels to cycle the tank. The tank has been up for 4 weeks, and for the last couple of days there has been a cloud in the tank. I did a 5 Gal water change but the cloud reappeared the next day. What is this cloud and how do I get rid of it?

Thanks

before anyone elses asks, I will...your tank parameters will be crucial in helping you. What tests have you done and what are their results?

The Ph & Alkalinity are good, no nitrates at 20 ppm & Nitrites at .5 ppm. The fish were being overfed last week by my son, and some algae was growing .

Being newbie myself, I would suggest large water changes. If your son was overfeeding, I would suspect water fouling do to too much food in the system. You are going to end up with horrendous algae problems if you do not get that excess food out of your system. Blow off the rocks and sand and change the water.

What do you mean by a "cloud"?

Do you mean the water gets cloudy all through the tank or you can see a cloud of something coming from a spot?

What kind of algae do you have growing in there?

Do you have any limpets in the tank? What other creatures do you have; snails, crabs, etc.?

I'm not familiar with the Aquapod tanks ... what kind of filtration is that?

There's just not enough info to answer your question, but I'm intrigued because a water change should have taken care of cloudiness from over feeding in a 24 gallon. If the cloudiness was gone for a day and then came back without over feeding, then there must be something else.

Can you give more details about the tank set up and the "cloud"?

Thanks!
Cathy

STILL CLOUDY

STILL CLOUDY

THE WATER WAS CLOUDY BEFORE THE WATER CHANGE, I VACUUMED THE GRAVEL STIRRED THE SAND AROUND BECAUSE OF THE ALGEA THAT WAS GROWING AND DID A 20% WATER CHANGE, AFTER I ADDED THE WATER AND EVERYTHING SETTLED, ANS THE WATER GOT CLOUDY AGAIN, NOW ONE OF THE DAMSELS IS NOT DOING TO WELL, I DID A FRESH WATER DIP WITH THE DAMSEL AND IT'S DOING BETTER. THE FILTRATION IS FOAM BLOCKS, THE CERAMIC CHIPS & BIOBALLS.
