Cloudy eye, tried FAQ

I have an anthias in QT for 2.5 weeks now and he's had a slighly bulging cloudy eye for a week. I'd add selcon/vitachem to a mixture of frozen food and was hoping it would clear up but it has not.

Any suggestions or medications? Will the medications kill the good bacteria on my biowheel and ceramic rings?

BTW, when I went into FAQ and clicked the cloudy eye link I got

"Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

as far as the cloudt eye goes it is usually caused by some form of stress and the culprit is usually ick or some kinda parisite ime a 5-6 minute fw bath will almost instantly cure a cloudy eye and the majority of any external parisites but hen you most work on removing the stress form you main tank or what ever caused the cloudy eye b/c it will just reinfect the fish again

CBehr,

The first thing to check is if the problem is affecting one or both eyes. If the other eye is completely normal in all respects, the problem is almost certainly not a systemic one, such as a disease or malnutrition.
Anthias are nortorius for developing eye damage during capture - giving the fish a FW dip is going to require recapturing it, just increasing the odds of further eye damage. I might use FW dips as a diagnostic tool for flukes if BOTH eyes are cloudy....but it will not cure the problem.
Do you see any signs of air bubbles in the eye? My advice (without seeing a picture of the fish) is "first, do no harm" - and just wait and see. Mechanically induced eye damage to one eye typically gets better or doesn't get better, no matter what you do for it.
