How long has the tank been set up?

Anything new added/done to the tank lately?

Is it a whitish cloudy? If so, could be a bacteria bloom.

Is it a greenish cloudy? If so, could be an algae bloom.

What do you all have in the tank? Spawning events can cloud up the tank too.

do you dose kalk?

do you dose carbon such as vodka or sugar?

i am thinking kalk overdose or bacterial bloom. if kalk, test pH, if you can. if it is 9.0 or less let it come down naturally. if it is over 9.0 get some soda water and dose slowly, checking every half hour. get it below 9.0 and then let it come down naturally.

if bacterial, get as much air as possible in the tank, and make sure your skimmer is working. put extra air stones in the tank. bubblers, and again make sure that skimmer is wide open for air.

as Todd said it could be calerpa spawning or algae bloom too, but the other two are more common.

Good point about the Kalk, forgot about that one. I purposely mix up my Kalk solution to be weak, because I overdose more then I care to admit.

I mix mine strong, about 2.5 tsp/gal. I have it on ATO and the stirring pump turns on at the same time as the dosing pump. I know I dose sediment, but it doesn't hurt anything. Water still looks clear coming out. I certainly have had an overdose though, but that was when manually dosing, not with ATO.

Yea, I just dose mine with a IV dripper, and on more then one occasion I opened it up too much and put in 5 gallons into a 75 in about 6 hours -- no issues.

my tank has been setup for 3 1/2 months at my new house ,every thing has been perfect except a little bit of cynobacteria but im taking care of that ,the cloudiness is whitish ,nothing has been added for atleast a month or so cause i want to get this resolved ,i have 6 fish and lots of various corals .,aslo with the bacteria its been on my sand and getting on my rock and glass any better idea i been using algone but i was told to getr RED SLIME and it will go away any answers will help

any chance the temp rose more today than normal. this may help cause a bacterial bloom. i would start getting as much air in the tank as possible.

if you want your stuff to live. common man, if it was really that important dont you think you would have listened to me the first time, or the second. or do you not really want to be helped?

That was a bit harsh, but it does sound like a bacterial bloom. I wouldn't trust products like algone and such, stuff dies and there you go.... white water.

every thing is cleaned and my nitrates are very high thanks and its coral man not common man

i wasnt saying common man, i was saying come-on man...

its cool down hill my skimmer is broke at the moment i am using a magnum 305 with my fluval right now till i get one i have a jebo that the metal impeller rod is bent and wont work right it throws out to many micro bubbles into the tank and i tried finding a replascement but cant so im saving up to get a really nice one but the lfs said to use the algone for a little bit them go to the red slime but all ym corals are healthy and still growing great

First, do a large waterchange, next, use the micron filter for the Magnum and put a couple Chemi Pure Elites in your Fluval, make sure to agitate the surface. That should save you until you get a skimmer, hopefully soon.

Sounds like your high nitrates are coming from your filter. Why not do away with the nitrate factory and just use a skimmer plus frequent water changes? It works great for me.
