I never experinced this before. My tank is so clear that you litteraly can not tell that theres water in the tank. But today its very cloudy. All parameters are in cheack nothing died. I have 2 cups of carbon in the tank that is 3 weeks old I always change it out at a month Any ideas ?????
TIA
T.

Snail spawning, bacteria blooms and calcium carbonate precipitation all cause cloudy tank. If alk and calcium check out, I would be looking at the other two. Do you dose any carbon sources?

FWIW,

Ok I just checked my PO4 and its at .02 on my hanna but I am having a brown algae on the glass every 3 days ammonia and everything else 0 cal is at 425 alk 10.0 normally 9.0 i lowered the dosing pump. mag 1350 i dont know of anything else to think of
As for snaills spawing i have like 10 turbos and thats it

Have also read that some GFO media will break down if flow is too high and escape reactor, causing cloudy water. Maybe something else to take a look at.

I use phosloc which it go through 2 100 micron filters socks ill check it out but i havent touched it

Assuming that pump adds it slowly, and you did not add an unusually large amount that day, I'd guess it is a spawning event or bacterial bloom of some sort. It will probably disappear on it sown.

What else are you adding?

yeah it drips at a rate of 30 ml in 24 hours

Since my nutrients are 0 and PO4 .02. What else would cause a bacteria bloom ?
As for others I add amino acids everyday 3 drops iodide 3 drops everyday

Bacteria don't usually bloom due to inorganic nutrients (algae do, however). Bacteria bloom when there is a big supply of organics, like adding vodka, sugar, or an ice cream cone. :D

lol well non of those were added. Lights just came on and its alot clearer. BUT not up to my standards lol.
