Clove polyp

Hi got a frag of these the other day, I just wondered if they are supposed to all open, or if this is how they are? They extend when lights are on like they wake up, and certainly wave around in the water.

I guess my question would be: why did you buy it if you didn't know what it was supposed to look like?

Generally, it's best to have that knowledge going into a purchase (or go back and look it up before purchasing). You could easily be buying a diseased or dying specimen otherwise...

Didn't buy it, was given to me as a frag. I know what they are meant to look like, I just wondered if it was normal.

What do you mean by waves, like moves with water flow or polyps open and close. If they open and close it is pulsing xenia not clove polyp.
