Clove Poylps

Got some Clove Poylps just under a week ago. First few days they looked pretty good. But now many are not coming out,and most are drupy, or shriveled? Any Idea? New tank syndrom?

My clove polyps took about 2+ weeks to "come around". Of course during that time I was moving them around to find the rght "spot", more for me than for the colony. When I finally just left them be, they really took off. Maybe it is just "the right spot", quite by accident I'm sure. At any rate, now, into their 4th week as my tank residents, (and now my favorite, just beautiful), they have at least 13 new polyp "babies". They really took off!

They are in the top 1/3 of the tank, under PC (64watt), and close to a Maxijet 600 with a Hydor so they get nicely but not unduly blasted every 15-20 seconds or so.

That's my story. They sure are happy campers now, but it took them awhile. Be patient.

Thanks for the advice.

I bought some on Thursday, and they're starting to come around.

Should I point a powerhead at them to help out?

I think that would depend on just how close the PH is, and what the gph of the PH is as well.

Mine didn't like it where there was low flow, but on the other hand constant high flow didn't suit them either.

So I settled for medium flow (Maxi-jet 600, rated 160 gph) about 4 inches away from the rotator (Hydor). They seem very happy now, and like I said, they are multiplying like crazy. Which I want them to do. Yes, I know they can get out of hand, some ppl call them weeds, but I love weed (s), :-O lol
