Hello and thank you for reading.
I have two snowflakes that are recently paired up. They follow each other where ever they go but they don't go very far. They are recently paired up for about 2 weeks. During that time I had them in an isolated container with a new RBTA. Neither one of them ever once tried to host. I would drop pellets on the nem to coerce them to host and nothing. They'd dash to get the pellet and then go on there business. Finally I got fed up and released the RBTA (was starting to look funny) from the container so it could find a place in my LR. The two snowflakes are now just hanging out near the top of my tank in one corner.
Tank info
RSM S 500 - 130 gallon stock setup for two weeks. I had upgraded and all the LR is a minimum 4 years old.
Tank mates.
5" Powder Blue Tang
5" Sailfin Tang
3" Yellow Tang
4" Solon Fairy Wrasse
3" Bartletts Anthias
All these fish were recently rehomed from two very well maintained and established reef tanks.
Mixed reef with various corals. Soft, SPS, and LPS.
They are only 2" each so I am wondering if they are just intimidated. I have a min of 100# of LR and there are caves and hiding places galore. I don't want them to get stressed or sick. The tangs all get along fine and play follow the leader all day. I haven't seen anyone get chased while I literally watched all weekend. I'm thinking that the 2 weeks maybe a little rushed and that they'd need more time. They look good and are eating.
Any suggestions as far as getting them to host a location of the tank or better yet the RBTA I bought them. Or at the very least get down below 4 inches from the surface.
Furthermore I have another 40 gallon tank that have another set of paired percula clown's that host another anemone. I really want to put them into the RSM as well just on the opposite side of the tank. I think I am asking for trouble with the snowflakes just chilling where they are though. I may just sell / trade a pair but I think I could manage to have a pair on either side of the tank.
Thanks in advance for reading and any suggestions
