Clown Death

So, I bought 2 true percs from the LFS yesterday. Both looked great, ate at the store and where in the same tank.

Got em home, acclimated them over about an hour and let 'em loose.

They immidiatly ran to my Purple Long Tenticle and my Black SaddleBack let them know that that was his house. LFS told me the Black Saddle and the Percs would work things out fine.

Anyway, they (the 2 percs) started lip locking and twitching at the other. From what I've read I thought to expect a little of that. They didn't do it too much, just every once in awile they'd face off for maybe 3 or 4 seconds.

Got up this am, and one of them was dead! :(

Tank Params
> 5ppm Nitrate
No readable phosphates
PH around 8.6 (I can't get that down for the life of me)
Salinity 1.025

They where both about the same size, so did they just take it too far, or do I have a bigger problem that I'm missing?

I had 1 black and a pair of percs... That's a no-go?

Now I've got 1 black and 1 perc.... What should I do?

how are they acting?
what sizes are they?
do they hang out together?

yes more than one PAIR is too many for a small tank like that.

Size? Uhhh--- both similar sizes small... smallest I could get from the LFS. I'd say 1.5-2"??

They seem to be pretty much ignoring each other right now. Lights just came on though, so everyone is kinda chill.

keep this updated they might even pair up for you. the other option is the saddleback will harass the perc.

Thanks!
I really just wanted one pair, but I couldn't bring myself to part with the saddle back. I asked the LFS if it would be a prob, and he said that basically, it's possible that there will be a prob, but they would probably work it out. I was planning on getting another anemone (probably a sabae) in case they wouldn’t share the M. doreensis.

It would be AWESOME if they pared!

Definitly hanging out more...
Sorry, they didn't listen when I told them to hold still.
Oh yeah... He's not a Saddleback is he? I think he was mislabled.... What exactly is he?
