My Wyoming white and platinum have been in my tank for almost a week now, and I am noticing some strange behavior to me. I realize they will be aggressive toward each other while trying to pair but to what extent is this aggression? The Wyoming white will twitch at the platinum because the platinum is larger, but not much, than the Wyoming. I know this is typical behavior but I am worried about the Wyoming's nipped fins. It seems a bit much for them to tear each other up so much. Also I read that if they lock lips while fighting this is a sign both are female. My friend said she noticed this happening between the two, though I have not. Will a female ever twitch to another larger female? Is fin nipping normal and to what extent is it safe? If they lock lips while fighting is this a definitive sign they are both females? Also I got them at a fish store that said they have been ordered from Ora, and they were pretty small so I doubt they were sexually determined due to their size.
